We have arrived in the Lot and most of the village signs are upside-down, because the farmers are protesting. Nous sommes arrivés dans le Lot et la plupart des panneaux du village sont à l'envers, car les agriculteurs protestent.
15th October 2023: weather is turning
Finally, the clouds are building, marking the end of the good weather and time to leave France. Enfin, les nuages s'amoncellent, marquant la fin du beau temps et le temps de quitter la France.
14th October 2023: autumn is arriving
The weather has been glorious but the autumn colours are starting to arrive. Le temps a été magnifique mais les couleurs d'automne commencent à arriver.
13th October 2023: it’s a long way
It’s a long way to Santiago and we are sorry to end our walk so soon. Le chemin jusqu’à Saint-Jacques est long et nous sommes désolés de terminer notre promenade si tôt.
12th October 2023: chateau in the rocks
We walk under the cliffs and see an old chateau built into the rocks. Nous marchons sous les falaises et voyons un vieux château construit dans la roche.
11th October 2023: shepherd’s hut
On our route we pass an old shepherd’s hut. Sur notre route, nous passons devant une borie – une ancienne cabane de berger.
10th October 2023: water point
We spend a few days walking on the Compostella. It is very hot and we are grateful for this water point. Nous passons quelques jours à marcher sur la Compostelle. Il fait très chaud et nous sommes reconnaissants pour ce point d'eau.
